SLP LIVE: Feel Empowered Treating Speech

Amy, Jennie, and Rebecca are speech-language pathologists (SLPs) who have a special interest and extensive experience in assessing and treating a wide range of speech sound disorders. This live three hour course will target three different areas. First, participants will learn how to effectively treat lateral lisps and the /r/ sound. Second, they will learn strategies to implement high speech production trials in therapy with the latest evidence in mind. Finally, participants will learn how to select appropriate targets for children with childhood apraxia of speech.

  • Jennie Bjorem

    M.A. CCC-SLP

    Jennie received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Saint Louis University and graduated from Truman State University with her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in May 1999. She has a great understanding from a parent perspective as she has a young child with special needs. She is the owner of Children’s Therapy Services in Leawood, Kansas. Jennie’s area of expertise is in early intervention birth through 5, parent education and childhood apraxia of speech. She currently provides 22 speech therapy sessions a week to children with CAS. Jennie is recognized for her advanced training and expertise in Childhood Apraxia of Speech by Apraxia Kids. She presented at the Apraxia Kids national conference, had over 75 hours of CAS training in 2018 and was awarded the ASHA ACE Award for Continuing Education. Jennie travels the country speaking on the topic of CAS in her spare time. Jennie is the creator of the Bjorem Speech Sound Cues for acquisition of speech and literacy.

  • Amy Graham

    MA, CCC-SLP

    Amy Graham is a speech language pathologist and owner of Graham Speech Therapy, a private practice in Colorado Springs that specializes in pediatric speech sound disorders. Amy is the creator of the Graham Speech Therapy Oral-Facial Exam and the Bjorem Speech Sound Cues Deck for Lateralization. She has a particular interest in supporting and equipping SLPs to provide evidence-based treatment by posting frequent therapy videos and practical therapy tips via her social media accounts.

  • Rebecca Reinking

    CPSP, CCC-SLP

    Rebecca Reinking is an Australian speech-language pathologist who is passionate about helping SLPs feel more confident in treating speech sound disorders. Rebecca currently works part-time in private practice and is also the owner of Adventures in Speech Pathology, where she creates evidence-based therapy resources for SLPs. She has a particular interest in phonological interventions and strives to connect and collaborate with speech scientists to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice.
