Becoming an entrepreneur is a time of excitement. No doubt you want your business to be profitable and last a long time. While jumping two feet first into business sounds like a dream come true for many, there are other professionals and steps that should be taken to properly set up your business. This presentation will cover which professionals a new business owner should meet with, potential pitfalls, and review case scenarios about consulting other professionals.

1. Participants will identify key professionals that a person should contact when deciding to go into business.
2. Participants will examine the ethical implications of following ill-advised business advice.
3. Participants will review case studies of individuals who used appropriate professionals in establishing their business and those who did not.

  • Shontaye Glover Jones

    MS, CCC-SLP

    Shontaye Glover Jones is an alumnus of Morgan State University and received her Master of Science degree in communication disorders from William Paterson University in New Jersey. She is the owner of Having Our Say, LLC where her private practice provides in-home services for children with speech and language delays. In addition to being the CE administrator and Director of Business Development for Bright Ideas, Shontaye is also the award-winning author of Liam's First Cut and The Season of Yes!

    MSP, CCC-SLP

    Sydney is a pediatric speech-language pathologist with a clinical focus in working with children who are deaf and hard of hearing and literacy. She's passionate about early detection and intervention for those who are deaf and hard of hearing. Sydney is an advocate for assisting families to find functional ways to build language.
