How to Integrate Diverse Books in Therapy

This course focuses on how speech language pathologists (SLPs) can implement inclusive picture books into literacy-based therapy. Learners will recognize the role of the SLP in supporting literacy skills and discuss the framework for implementing literacy-based intervention. Learners will analyze the components of language that are the foundation for skilled reading and will understand the critical components related to book selection.

    Shontaye Glover Jones is an alumnus of Morgan State University and received her Master of Science degree in communication disorders from William Paterson University in New Jersey. She is the owner of Having Our Say, LLC where her private practice provides in-home services for children with speech and language delays. In addition to being the CE administrator and Director of Business Development for Bright Ideas, Shontaye is also the award-winning author of Liam's First Cut and The Season of Yes!
